Eyescontactlens DNA Collection yearly natural color contact lenses.Today, colors increasingly reflect a globalized society. Just as we are moving towards a universal language, color finds its own global image along a similar path of convergence. The advent of the Internet and new forms of global communication has meant that cultural idiosyncrasies have declined significantly in recent years. Thus, the formula for a single hue or collection of colors now conveys a sense that its ubiquity will only grow in the future.
We have been very concerned about this development. For several years, we have been working on a global encoding of the lens color language with color researchers from around the world. As part of this research project, the development of the RAL colour genetic code DNA, now complete, represents to some extent a transparent, fine-tuned “grammar” of individual colour definitions. The term DNA is taken from molecular science, a discipline that deals with the uniqueness of genetic material to individuality. We adopt this term as a linguistic marker for a feature definition that gives each color an (almost) autonomous personality trait. Each color has a unique personality and tendencies that distinguish it from the others.
An evaluation panel of experienced experts identified these characteristics and, in the final discussion, scored each characteristic. Technical environment and color application aspects as well as material properties all affect the final result. Experts concluded that “both architectural and design works are more precise than we thought”
